Restyling a Summer Dress for a Winter Look

I'm dreaming of hot summer nights and even though we still have 9 days left of winter before spring (but who's counting?), that doesn't mean your summer frocks have to stay banished to the back of your closet. This winter season has been so unpredictable–one day it is 30 degrees and snowing and the next it is 75 degrees and rainy. The best way to "winterize" a summer dress, and to beat Mother Nature at her own game, is by layering. Here I have three layers on top (basic turtleneck, silk dress, and suede moto vest) and I feel ready to take on a 42 degree day. Of course, it helps to have a steaming hot cup of cocoa. (My poison of choice lately is the Mexican hot chocolate from Small World Coffee in Princeton. To.Die.For!)

This designer suede vest is BlankNYC and I found it at Marshalls for less than $50! The grey green color is versatile enough to be worn all year round. I was shopping for home decor stuff, but may have went home with a few outerwear pieces. (See the luxe sherpa vest I wore in this look, also from Marshalls.) A woman passed by me here, gave me a funny look, and said, "Ohhhh, now it makes sense! She's taking a picture." Even if I wasn't, is it a crime to lean on a wall lol? True story. #bloggerproblems.
