Get Inspired with Inspirational Nursery Rhymes
My oldest is fiercely brilliant and capable. He's imaginative and creative. He's resourceful, depending on his mood. He also has what I call "a hard personality." When he can't figure something out right away, he becomes defeatist. Even though I'm reassuring and positive, he almost always says go straight to saying the exact opposite and has the tendency to overanalyze to the point of creating false worry. Do you know just how frustrating it is to be up against a tiny human with such big emotions?
That's why I'm loving these Inspirational Nursery Rhymes books by Todd and Jackie Courtney, a book series about a little mouse named Max, created to bring traditional values back into a modern world. The books contain simple rhymes written to create a positive belief system and are geared for ages 0-7. "Get Inspired with Max" teaches young kids they can do anything when they put their mind to it! Bonus that the little mouse is named Max, too!
I've also introduced a daily mantra into his wake-up routine: Work hard, be kind, and be positive. I think repeating this out loud every morning has helped him to set a positive tone for the day.
Do you have any tips on encouraging positivity? I'd love to hear in the comments!
