Last month was Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, so in honor of this, I wanted to share about our family’s participation in the Stop Asian Hate Rally & Vigil in Princeton, NJ.
What does summer sound like to you this year? Besides the sound of Brood X, of course. (If you live in the Northeast then you know what I mean.) Cicadas aside, to me summer’s siren song is the sound of an ice cream truck coming through the neighborhood.
Whether you’re planning a romantic dinner for two or a Galentine’s night out with the girls, snagging a ressie on February 14th is basically akin to nabbing that gold medal in the ski jump – that is to say, odds are against you, my friends.
January. It’s the Monday of months, ya know? Thankfully, we can all move forward because it’s finally February. Perhaps it’s because of the slow drag of winter post-holidays, or the inevitable Q1 downtime, but over the past few weeks in my mom-off-duty hours, I’ve been taking care of the BTS admin work that goes on behind being a blogger.
I’m trading my laptop for Stovetop. And for the next 16 hours, the only thing I’m dishing is seconds. A little tribute for all you Gossip Girl fans 😉… but really, is there any better time than Thanksgiving (and the subsequent holidays) to bring out all the claws and knives?
Although I made a Fall Bucket List with my family this year, I kept it pretty simple (you can see it here) –– so that I wouldn’t suffer from Strenuous Seasonal Fun Disorder. It’s a thing, okay?
As a transplanted New Jersey girl for the last 5 years, I’ve considered myself an “almost New Yorker” long before, having come to the city every summer since I was a child to visit my grandmother who lived by herself in Lower Manhattan.
Safe to pull out the fall ensembles, shall we? Monday marked the first day of fall – also the day my littlest and last was born three years ago – so I always feel quite the burst of joy (and severe nostalgia) during this time of year.
When a family crisis came up and we had to make an unexpected family trip to North Carolina last week, I barely had time to pack for myself, much less a family of five.
