Red, White and Blue

Fourth of July is a time to bring out your red, whites and blues — but I'm here to show you my favorite way to wear it year-round without looking like the American flag. When it comes to selecting pieces to add to my wardrobe, I look for versatility, longevity and simplicity — all wrapped up with a little style detail. I am a busy mom after all, but I don't like to label my closet as a "mom wardrobe". I prefer to keep the yoga pants and tees at home, and this effortless maxi skirt by Ganni with wrap split front ticks off all those boxes for me.

You know how they say, never buy anything new when you're expecting? Bought this classic beauty at Geysir boutique in Iceland last year when I was 13 weeks pregnant, and let's just say I am doing a happy dance now that I'm able to wear it! I love the silky sheen and shades that flicker between indigo and navy depending on the lighting. (Excuse the wrinkles, because mom life.) Pair with a strappy white top and chunky heels and you're dressed for any summertime occasion, like that stroll through an irresistibly charming flower shack off the side of the road. Happy Independence Weekend!
