The Perfect Free People Summer Dress for All the Lavender Days
"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn." – Bernard DeVoto, author
With the unofficial start of summer having commenced on Memorial Day weekend, I’m always overcome by a certain twinge of nostalgia for childhood summers. They’re what summer dreams are made of: all the colorful wild flowers, sun-drenched moments by the sea, and that magical purple-hue of waning twilight when you’re just getting tuckered out.
Joining me for all my summer adventures spent twirling in flower fields, farmers market visits, and beach side strolls is this Free People dress. Need a boho, romantic, lost-in-a-daydream kind of dress for lazy summer days? Free People nails it year-round. I scored this cream and ivory lace beauty at Marshalls for under $50. With just the faintest of gold metallic threads and raw edge details, I immediately fell in love with the romance of this dress. Pair it with booties like I did (my white leather booties from Zara are on repeat) or open-toe sandals and you’ve got a neutral base to style around for any occasion. Happy lavender days!
