Outfit Inspo for a Tulip Field Photoshoot
“Spring — an experience of immortality.”– Henry David Thoreau
As a girl growing up in South Florida, I never knew seasons. Sure, there’s far worse than growing up amongst palm trees year-round, but now that I’ve lived in New Jersey for the last 7 years, I can truly say there is nothing quite like the changing of seasons. Thoreau’s poetic tribute to spring, the quality of the air — how it is a natural resurrection after winter — is really the perfect ode to the beauty that is the Garden State. And with spring fully underway and in bloom here in New Jersey, I’ve been languishing in all the stunning buds that have been popping up since March, from delicate cherry blossoms and velvety pink magnolias to sungold forsythia, and now, wisteria hysteria — and of course, taking any opportunity to dress up for a picturesque moment.
Our tulip festival in New Jersey has just concluded, but since tulips are still peaking around different parts of the country, I’m sharing two easy outfit ideas that are perfect for wearing to a tulip festival — or really, to any flower field. Frolic amongst the flowers in a flowy off-the-shoulder dress paired with cowboy boots — bonus points if it has statement sleeves. For a more classic look, you can never go wrong with a pair of high-waisted denim shorts and a cute top. And the best accessory? A gorgeous bunch of hand picked flowers, of course.
These are my go-to outfits for spring/summer and I’ll surely be wearing some version of these when I visit my local peony and lavender farms later this spring! Are you more the cottage core dress type or casual-cool denim and kicks?
Tell me what you would wear to the flower field of your dreams!
