OMONO Collagen Review: My New Skincare Favorite from Japan
I’ll be the first to admit: I’m no beauty or skincare buff. In fact, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to most of it: beauty and skincare intimidates me. I have long admired Asian beauty standards though, so I was intrigued when Japanese skincare company OMONO reached out to me to try their anti-aging skincare drink product that recently launched in the U.S. It’s been touted as an “elixir of eternal youth” and for over the past two months, I have regularly incorporated OMONO into my daily routine (but more on this later!).
Before I get to the details, let me start off by saying I cannot for the life of me contour my face, curl my lashes, and don’t get me started on applying eyeshadow for Asian eyes. I don’t have a 10-step skincare routine and I don’t know what trending, new product is out there that I *need*.
What can I say? As much as I love all the bells and whistles when it comes to decking out my sartorial closet, my skincare and beauty routine is pretty simple. Minimal really. Whether that’s by choice or sheer laziness, you take your guess.
As a 40-year-old woman facing the usual mid-life skin concerns, this minimal/lazy approach to beauty has served me well over the years by allowing my skin room to breathe and to just be relatively au natural. I like to keep things simple and easy with little to no fuss.
All of this is to say: I’ve found a new skincare favorite – OMONO skincare drink powder formulated with collagen and astaxanthin extract – that has made its way into my edited lineup and I just had to share because I’m liking what I’m seeing!
What is OMONO?
OMONO supports complete skin health with just one easy drink per day – simply stir in one packet into your drink of choice. (I promise it tastes good, quite like a vanilla milkshake!) Great with your morning cup of coffee or to take on the go, and OMONO is 100% non-GMO, unfiltered and cruelty-free.
What are the ingredients in OMONO?
OMONO is formulated with these essential antioxidants and vitamins:
Astaxanthin extract – promotes smoothness and hydration, protects against UV and helps smooth appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
Marine collagen (type 1) – extracted from the skin and scale of finely-selected marine fish from natural sources, and promotes skin elasticity and reduces dryness
Hyaluronic acid – draws water from its surroundings to enhance the skin’s hydration levels
Biotin – helps produce fatty acid to promote skin suppleness and hair and nail strength
Elastin – helps promote firmness and plumpness
Vitamin C – protects your skin from environmental stressors, inhibits melanin production to support an even skin tone and improves fine lines and wrinkles
This past year and a half has been a bit tumultuous on my skin, to say the least. With the birth of my fourth baby and hormonal changes, on top of turning the big 4-0, my skin really started to show signs of stress and aging. This past winter was pretty rough on my skin, too. That’s why I’m so happy I started using OMONO, because it was easy to incorporate into my daily routine. More importantly, I'm liking how 'energized' my skin has been looking and feeling after using it most days for the last two months – slightly plumped and definitely smoother if you will.
Now I’m not here to tell you that a daily drink is the key to eternal youth - however, I am all for good-for-you solutions and minimal effort when it comes to beauty and OMONO ticks off both boxes. If you want to try OMONO for yourself, you can order here. Read more customer reviews here.
