Truly Custom Business Card Branding with Basic Invite

Hello. My name is Jamie.

Who else reading this here is a CMO? A.K.A. Chief Mom Officer, answers by the name of Mom, Momma, Mommy, Mamaaaaaaa, and moonlights as an Executive Chef/Circus Wrangler for tiny humans?

Sigh.

I can’t fit all that on a 3.5x2 card.

For brevity’s sake, I decided to leave that out on my fresh new business cards I ordered online from Basic Invite and instead focus on my freelance business. Surprised? I don’t really talk about my freelance work as a digital content creator and manager. Most people, including my kids’ doctors and teachers to random people I meet, assume I’m a stay at home mom – which I am, first and foremost. But in my “mom off duty” hours (i.e. bedtime and naptime), I help millennial lifestyle bloggers and influencers create and manage their website editorial content. I was excited when Basic Invite reached out to me to introduce their customizable line of invitations and stationery, including business cards – which I decided would be the perfect vessel to broadcast to all my SAHM side hustle, something I’m planning to grow when I send my last babe off to preschool in the fall.

Basic Invite is anything but basic.

I selected the Modern Colorblock Business Card, a minimalist yet friendly design utilizing a bold sans serif type and two-toned background. With all the clutter in mom life, both mentally and physically, I knew I wanted a clean, straightforward design to represent me (and my services) in a nutshell. Basic Invite offers over 550 business card designs, including ones that let you upload a photo, clear business cards, and foil embossed business cards available in gold, silver and rose gold. (I also really like the Marbled Paper Foil Business Card, this quirky Social Media Business Card, and this Fashion Stylist Business Card – these would be so perfect for lifestyle and fashion bloggers!)

If you know me, then you know how obsessed I am with paint chips. I like perusing the paint section of Home Depot and collecting chips just for fun – not because I have any particular home renovation projects in mind, but simply because I love looking at colors and all their clever names, but more specifically, pairing color combinations. Now, if we really want to get geeky, the former graphic designer in me always eagerly looks forward to the new Pantone Color of the Year, probably in the same way my kids anticipate Santa’s presents. (This year it’s Living Coral, or designers know it as Pantone 16-1546, and I’m totally on board!)

With almost 180 custom color options, Basic Invite is one of the few websites that gives you almost unlimited colors with instant previews online.

I’ve basically died and gone to heaven! Once you select a design you can change the color of each individual element on the card to any of the 180 color options so you can make sure your card is exactly how you want it – down to the littlest detail. There are even 10 shades of yellow to choose from which will rival your kid’s Crayola crayons. Btw, does anyone else hear Miranda Priestly saying “What you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean.”? I chose “Tea Rose” for my background color and “Stormy”, a dark gray, for my main text. The product customization is easy to use, the ordering process is seamless and easy, and my product was received within one week.

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. And don’t forget, Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you to order a printed sample of your actual item so you can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before you ever have to place your final order!

Happy color pairing!
