Check Yourself | Mad about Plaid for Fall

You know those OOTDs that make you really excited for a specific reason? This is one of my favorites for fall. I’m mad about plaid this season! Although plaid is one of the big trends this year, it reminds me of the 90s and what I used to wear in high school. They say fashion always comes around again. This plaid mini skirt number from Aritzia is my favorite check of the moment. It checks off all the boxes for me (pun intended): it’s high-waisted (good for hiding all the stuffing, wink), buttons up, and shows just the right amount of leg for pairing with over-the-knee boots. Worn with a big cozy sweater, it’s probably my fave everyday, effortless look for fall.

I recently discovered Aritzia in New York City. I’ve been a fan of their Instagram for awhile, but just popped into the store for the first time recently. Aritzia is all about beautifully made clothing in timeless styles and superb fabrics. Let’s just say I made out with quite a few cozy purchases to get me through the fall and winter, including this white textural bouclé turtleneck, this relaxed white chenille sweater (I got it in ivory, but I want it in all the colors!), and this embroidered floral slip dress (it’s stunning!) which I can’t wait to style up for fall/winter with layers.

My little mini and I had such a fun fall day here in downtown Princeton. On a nice day, we love walking around Palmer Square, playing with the giant chess set on the green area, grabbing a scoop (or two) of artisanal ice cream from our fave, The Bent Spoon, and of course snapping some mommy-and-me photos. ‘Cuz when you’re sporting coordinating looks, you gotta document it, am I right, mommas?
