Go and Grow by Similac Pouches

Once upon a time, when I was a mother of one, I made all of baby boy’s first foods. I pored over baby food cookbooks for scintillating recipes to whet baby’s appetite – pureed butternut squash infused with cinnamon, lentils with chicken and apples, the perfect lightly spiced dal – and lined up those ice cube trays, slaved over the stove and fired up the good ol’ blender.

When I became a mother of two, I made most of #2’s foods and started him earlier on Baby Led Weaning – basically out of sheer laziness.

Now as a third-time mother, I try as often as possible to make some homemade purees for Baby Atticus who is now 9 months old, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t supplement regularly with store-bought baby food pouches – both at home and on-the-go. I was excited to learn about the new Go & Grow by Similac Pouches and its one-of-a-kind OptiGRO benefit, now available at Walmart.

Go & Grow by Similac Pouches are the only baby and toddler fruit and veggie puree pouches with OptiGRO, a brain- and eye-nourishing blend of DHA, Lutein, and Vitamin E in forms similar to common foods.

  • DHA; like that found in fish, for baby’s developing brain

  • Lutein; like that found in spinach, for eye health

  • Vitamin E; like that found in broccoli, for growth and development

Each pouch has 3-4 servings of combined fruits and veggies. With healthy ingredients and bright flavors like pear, blueberry, and spinach and sweet potato, apple, and carrot, your baby will love the taste!

The perfect way to start off a summer morning? Nourishing foods, fresh air, and outdoor play! We took along the Mango, Pear, Spinach Puree for a morning romp at our favorite farm. Baby Atticus enjoyed tasting this flavor under the shade of the cherry orchards, while big brothers ran around collecting fallen apples for him. (They might have munched on a few, too.) Atticus finished most of the pouch so it’s safe to say that he thoroughly enjoyed this flavor – not to mention squeezing it out, too! I’ve always believed that introduction to a wide variety of fruits and veggies at an early age is an important strategy to improve the quality of children’s diets and lifestyle. I must have done something right because my firstborn now loves my homemade kale salad recipe!

Check out your local Walmart for Go & Grow by Similac Pouches, now available in the baby food aisle. If the pouches haven’t made it to your store yet, just order online at Walmart.com and pickup in-store like we did. Easy peasy!
