Fall Collegiate Styling
Hey Upper East Siders.
While it’s been years since I’ve been in a classroom, there’s always something about this time of year, especially living near Princeton in and around the university campus, that makes me giddy for fall collegiate styling – think button-downs, turtleneck sweaters, ribbed skirts, knotted headbands, and classic leather accessories – or in other words, Gossip Girl’s stylish characters B and S, in the preppy Upper East Side tv drama.
And this time of year, with the air getting crisp and the leaves beginning to change to fiery hues, always makes me miss my days as a university student. Granted, I went to a school surrounded by palm trees and ocean year-round, but you bet that didn’t keep me from daydreaming of cozy fall layers and ankle boots once our Miami temps finally dip to 70 degrees!
Speaking of accessories, I was gifted this calf leather Manhattan Bracelet by New York fashion designer Jeff Wan – and I just adore its simplicity and the way it adds a subtle luxe detail to an everyday outfit. I snapped shut the double wrap beauty with the ease of a delicate gold magnetic clasp (engraved with Wan’s signature pineapple motif) and paired it with my take on a Gossip Girl inspired outfit. Jeff Wan hails from the island nation of Mauritius and is based in NYC – so his line of modern leather goods and handbags celebrates his colorful island culture in colorful and unexpected ways (think island-hopping meets urban minimalist).
The Manhattan Bracelet comes in 9 rich colors perfect for fall (I’m eyeing the orange one!), and through the month of October, 10% of Fuchsia Manhattan Bracelet sales will be donated directly to Link of Life, a non-profit which provides support and counseling to cancer patients and their families. Of course, once I started reading more about the Jeff Wan brand, I instantly wanted to share it with you all. And even better, feel free to use my special promo code ‘JAMIENGROSE15’ for 15% off any purchase!
Are there any brands doing good for others you’ve recently discovered that you’d like to share? I always love hearing about new ones, so drop me a comment below!
